Evan Mandle - Team Lead

Evan Mandle is a native Iowan, Electrical Engineering student with a focus on Power Systems and Renewable Energy. Since he was young, he has always been fond of electricity and electronics. Growing up with video games and technology has inserted this passion within him. Not only is he involved with his own experience at Iowa State, but he also contributes to other students by being a Teacher Assistant for classes such as EE 201: Electric Circuits and EE 324: Signal and Systems II. His role for the team is Team Lead where he is responsible for the team’s productivity, morale, and whatever deems important on a week-to-week basis.


Alex Carpenter - Chief Engineer - Hardware

Alex Carpenter is a senior in Electrical engineering, with an emphasis on Power System Analysis. His roles in this project include conducting research regarding hardware, developing the design and testing schedule for hardware components and performing hardware tests. In his free time, he enjoys going hiking and kayaking.


Bryan Johnston - Chief Engineer - Software

Bryan Johnston is an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on Power Systems. His roles in the project include software designing, software testing, and researching audio management. Outside of school, he enjoys riding motorcycles and is an aviation enthusiast.


Alexander Schneider - Chief Design

Alex Schneider is an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on Microelectronics. He serves as an active member and former officer for Game Renegades, the premier gaming club on campus, and acts as the head of operations for Ames Smash, a group of affiliated tournament organizers for Super Smash Bros. games in the Ames area. Other than video games, he enjoys skiing, biking, and customer service work.


Zach Serritella – Meeting Facilitator

Zach Serritella is currently a senior studying Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Power System Analysis. Currently a member of Phi Kappa Psi and a former member of the Wind Energy Student Organization (WESO). In the summer of 2018, he worked with a company called Zachry Group helping with designs and instrumentation. His roles for the project were assigned with the research of main menu, encoders, estimation of pricing and meeting facilitator. After gradutaion, I will be heading down to Texas to work for Zachry group.


Brian Shanders – Report Manager

Brian Shanders is an electrical engineer with a focus on Analog/Digital Design. His roles in the project are reporting all the documentation, writing weekly reports, website management, and main menu design. He is an active member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity, as well as a member of ISU Improv club and former member of ISU Robotics. During his downtime, likes to write short stories and play volleyball. Worked as an intern over at Abbott Laboratories in the summer of 2017.
